Pichai Sundararajan 


From Madurai, Tamil Naidu to becoming CEO of one of the megacorporation, he has come a long way. He led the development of google toolbar and google chrome, he has introduced many successful features and software of google. we will discuss his contributions further in this article. He is the man who bought GOOGLE to this sensation.

Early life 

An Indian who made India proud by getting the highest position in one of the megacorporation, is none other but Pichai Sundararajan, aka Sundar Pichai. He was born on June 10, 1972 in Madurai district of Tamil Naidu.

  His mother was stenographer and his father was electrical engineer at British Multinational, GCE. At an early age Pichai displayed an extraordinary interest in technology. He was from middle class family, and had good bond with his father. He used to slept on the floor with his brother. They had no TV  or fridge. 



Academics and Career


He completed his schooling from Chennai, and then he did Btech in Metallurgical Engineering  from IIT Kharagpur and MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, M.S from Stanford University in material science.

 He used to memorized every phone number at once. He was moderate in schooling but believed that, 'one who sees future, will be successful'.

Pichai began his career as a materials engineer. Following a short stint at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004.


Love Life 💖


He met Anjali in IIT, Kharagpur proposed her in last year of his college.

 But when he moved to America for further studies, they used to talk less. 

And then soon they got married and is blessed with two kids right now Kavya and Kiran.

Today as we see, Google has been widely used by everyone and everywhere, wants to send notice - you have Gmail, don't know route to your destination - you have google maps, best search browser?? Undoubtedly Chrome, want to make documents - you have google docs and slides, and there are end number of things Google is introducing day by day. Google owns android and by default you have YouTube, chrome, emails in your phone. 

He introduced all of them Google chrome, Chrome OS, Google Drive, Gmail, Google Maps. When he became the CEO, Google earned the total revenue of $181.69 Billions. In December 2019, he became the CEO of GOOGLE's parent company - Alphabet Inc.


Google has expanded and diversified itself in many ways and it is megacorporation, it has Google pay, Google forms, Google calendar, Drive, sheets, Finance, books, earth, translate, photo, shopping, Ads, Podcast, Travel, Duo, Photos, Google fit,  News, 
Google also has many features for businesses and for developers.
Pichai played a very crucial role in this unstoppable growth of Google. He made Google, one of the biggest megacorporation in the world from his talented and creative mind.

What we can learn from him?

  • Enhance your creativity - Pichai always thought out of the box, and he did not limit his ideas. You should also be able to think out of the box and enhance your creativity.                                                                                                                
  • Come up with new solutions - Pichai instead of complaining about something, he used to come up with solutions of the problem.                                                      
  • Make your products Best and user-friendly - Pichai always focused on developing Google's features best and user-friendly and unique. e.g. - developed chrome (one of the best browser) when there were many search browsers.                                                                                                              
  • Foresee the future - By foreseeing the future Pichai made many strategic plans and made great decisions, which played an important role in Google's success.                                                                                                                     
  • Learn from your mistakes - Always analyze where you made mistake, and learn from it, also try to identify upcoming obstacles.
